Please Jesus, Give Me One More Chance

The scenario  I am looking at is not what you think. I am talking about the day when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ, or more commonly called Judgement Day. For most of us that happens after we die.

In this scene we see a woman with her hands clasped together in prayer. She is praying, or rather just speaking to the Lord Jesus Christ because He is right there in front of her seating in some kind of judgement seat for He is the Judge of the whole earth, scriptures says, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 1Cor.1:10

She is a Christian, has been for decades, but she has been living an unsanctified life. She knows that sin is wrong, but she continued to sin anyway. She was taught in her Church that all her sins were forgiven past, present, and future. “So what’s the big deal?” She thought.

She ignored the many scriptures that taught her how she should live like, “Be holy, for without holiness no one will see the Lord.” Or, It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 1Th.4

And many, many more, here is one more, For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater —has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. Eph.5:5

“But dear Lord Jesus”, she says, “ I was taught once you are saved you are always saved and that all my sins were forgiven when I became a Christian past, present, and especially all my future sins, surely you are not fixing now to punish me!” “That is not fair, you can’t do that to me, A deal is a deal, you said my future sins were all forgiven, how can you turn around and charge me with them?”

Jesus said, “Who told you that all your future sins were forgiven at the time of your conversion?” “I know I didn’t, this is what I told you, be holy for without holiness no one will see the Lord.” “And I told you, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” And,”Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” Ja.1:12, He.12:14, He.10:38

“You did not endue your temptations instead you caved into them, you did not live a righteous life by faith and you did live a holy life therefore you will not receive the crown of life because my promise is only to those who loved me and endured to the end.” Matt.10:22

She replied, “Okay now I get it, and words cannot express just how sorry I am, so will you please, please, please forgive me this one more time and give me just one more chance. Perhaps you can send me back to earth and I will show you that I can life a God pleasing life just like you want me to.”

Jesus said, “My dear, can’t you see that it is too late? You died and it has been appointed unto all once to die and after death, judgement. There  is no longer an opportunity for you to do a do over. All that is left now is for me to pronounce my judgement upon you.”

She pleaded, “Can you make one exception for me and somehow give me just one more chance, I really, really am sorry for my sinning.”

Jesus said, “Bailiff, take her away ”  Lady get away from me for I never knew you, that is you never loved me and you continually broke my laws.” Matt.7:23
